The Saugatuck Douglas Garden Club is a member of the Michigan Garden Clubs, Inc. under District IV. Our club resides under the Central Region of the National Garden Clubs, Inc. Founded in 1928 and federated in 1947. Our purpose is to promote, encourage and support the use of flora to enrich and beautify Saugatuck and Douglas Michigan and surrounding areas; to encourage protection of existing flora including endangered species; to further horticulture education, conservation and landscape design through gift scholarships and community projects.
General meetings are held on the second Monday of each month from April through November. Members are expected to demonstrate an interest in the Club’s purpose, participate in its gardening activities and projects, and attend meetings.
